 Defense of Marriage  

Despite asserting that marriage is only "between a man and a woman", and must be protected, every Senator who voted for the 'Defense of Marriage' act's home state allows minors to marry.

Minor is actually a misnomer, children would be a better term. Apparently a same-sex couple that has been together for 30 years is more of an affront to the concept of marriage than two 14 year olds.

Note these facts:
One must be 21 to purchase alcohol
One must be 18 to purchase cigarrettes
One must be 18 to vote
One must be 16-18 to drive

In essence, according to the defense of marriage sponsors, its the end of civilization if two men get married, but if two middle school kids in Alabama want to get married? No problem- except they can't have champagne at their wedding, smoke a cigarette after sex on their honeymoon, drive to the grocery store to buy diapers or vote in an election to change those laws.
