 East Bay Express

I just looked at BoingBoing , and read an interesting article on nude photography.

The name of the author seemed familiar. I thought "wasn't there a girl by the name Lauren Gard at Pomona? class of 99?" Google set me straight, and there was. And its the same person.

Now, remembering a random name isn't all that special. But this is: Kara Platoni, Scripps (97?), who basically was a Pomona english major, is also at the east bay express. And that makes me wonder how many more are out there.

Pomona grads already dominate a slew of left leaning mass media outlets and legal groups. I always feel giddy when I read about another addition. Go Sagehens.

Hey there,
I'm glad you enjoyed the article--you've got one of the most memorable names from my time at Pomona yet to be perfectly honest, I'm trying to remember in what capacity our paths crossed. TSL? Anyway, it's always fun to see what former classmates are up to. Reading about your booty party dredged up a great memory--of me clutching that computer print-out list of crush matches. Damn, how I wish I could remember who was on it! Such a good idea. Teehee! Especially at a school filled with students who are fairly inept at actually entering romantic relationships (or getting laid, for that matter). =)
Oh, and Kara Platoni sits within earshot of me at work. She was the editor of the Collage (5-college paper) back in the day, and kicks ass now. Best of luck to you!
