MPAA: Fair Use == Stealing
The DailyPress reports: Teen faces charges for recording 20-second movie clip
Apparently, according to 'local police', theater personnel and the MPAA, a 20 second clip for personal use is stealing and piracy.
This is , perhaps, the most insane thing I've heard of. We're not talking about someone filming an entire show, or filiming something with the purpose of sale... this is someone taking a 20 seconds of video in crappy resolution -- a copy of such poor and limited quality that it has no 'retail' value in the black market, and barely any utility for personal use.
I'm amazed. Truly amazed.
